WARM AND GENUINE ATMOSPHERE

Our restaurant can accomodate about forty guests and when the weather allows it, fifteen more on the terrace.

Situated in the heart of the furniture area, between la Bastille and la Nation our bistrot is part of the history of this popular district. It was first an Italian restaurant where the Italian anarchists exiled in France could find a shelter.

In 1932 it was bought by a wood worker who named it "Au Vieux Chêne" a tribute to the noble tree of cabinet-makers. For a long time it remained that worker's bistrot where friends, employees of the near-by factories would come for a bite to eat or a drink.

Today, architects, photographers, artists have set up in old workshops perpetuating the village atmosphere of our little place...You'll be surprised by the number of neighbours, friends who just drop in to say hello or to have a bite to eat! They are welcomed to the sound of cutlery and conversations or a few jazz notes for a professional service nevertheless relaxed and sincere.
